Green Steps at Manor Cottage

We try to be aware of what we use and how we approach our day to day life here at Manor Cottage. Whilst we don't make a fuss about this, we realise these small steps may be of interest to you .

Cleaning: We work hard to make sure Manor Cottage is a clean and pleasant place for you to stay. We choose to use cleaning products with higher bio-degradable qualities than many high street brands.

Food: Our choice of food is based on quality food production methods and taste rather than being driven by price. This means that we try and buy as much locally produced, organic, fair trade and free range produce as we can. Our free range eggs for example are sourced from a farm near Truro and our vegetables from a local organic supplier. We hope your enjoyment of the food you eat here reflects these choices.

Hot Water: Our hot water system runs using energy from solar panels on our roof. This system heats all our water needs when sunshine allows but even on cloudy days contributes well to the energy required for supplying our hot water.

Loo rolls: Manor cottage rooms use loo rolls made from re-cycled paper.

Re-cycling: We re-cycle everything that we can through Carrick Council, so all cans, plastic bottles, glass, paper and foil used here are put into the scheme. We also recycle our kitchen waste.

Toiletries: We supply non animal tested toiletries in our guest rooms.

Towels: At full occupancy, daily towel change at Manor Cottage would lead to washing 140 towels a week.
Whilst we are delighted to change your towel daily if you would like this, we ask guests to leave on the floor towels they would like changed during their stay. This way we only wash and change the towels that are needed.
